Ben Kweller has formed his own record label, The Noise Company.

The label is set to feature all future recordings by the American singer and songwriter.

The first record to be released on the label will be Keller’s new album, Go Fly A Kite.

Go Fly A Kite will be released on February 10, 2012.

Kweller’s decision to start his own label comes as the artist seeks greater control over his work.

“When I signed my first record deal 15 years ago, many artists had little understanding of, or interest in, the contracts that would eventually bind their musical future,” Kweller said.

“I was one of those artists. Fortunately, I’ve been lucky to make my music with little interference. I’ve worked with some great people, most of whom I remain friends with today.

“Unfortunately, we’ve all been operating within an antiquated system that doesn’t work anymore. The Noise Co. is another step in creating my own system.

It gives me the opportunity to work directly with people in the industry who were previously ‘off-limits’”.
