Regurgitator

Regurgitator will release their first new material in more than three years this September.

The Brisbane band of Quan Yeomans, Peter Kostic and Ben Ely began work on a new studio album earlier this year in their adopted city of Melbourne.

The new material will be the band’s first since their 2007 release ‘Love and Paranoia’.

“The tracks are currently being mixed by Casey Rice after some additional recording at Head Gap and will be released through digital outlets and physical forms in September,” a statement from the band said.

The band will head out in support of the as yet titled new album this September.

Meanwhile, Regurgitator will produce a live score to the Japanese anime film, Akira.

Akira started life as Katsuhiro Otomo’s epic 2,000 plus page Japanese comic book, before being adapted into an animated film in 1988.

On August 8, as part of the Graphic animation conference at the Sydney Opera House, the film will be shown in the original Japanese language version with English subtitles and rescored live by Regurgitator.
