Basement Birds are close to finishing work on their debut record.
The supergroup of Kav Temperly (Eskimo Joe), Kevin Mitchell (Bob Evans), Josh Pyke and Steve Parkin will release their as yet titled record sometime this year.
Basement Birds have recorded nine tracks for their new album, with a final studio time set for May, posts on the group’s website said.
“We have one more session booked for May, which should see the completion of the project, something that is mostly very exciting,” Mitchell said.
First look: Basement Birds in the studio
In January this year, the group announced its formation, stating it would release an acoustic record with lots of big four-part harmonies.
“The first songs should start trickling out digitally early in the New Year with a physical album to come later in 2010,” Mitchell said at the time.
The four-piece began work on the as yet titled new album late last year.

Great – no new Jebs stuff again for a while – Just reform Jebediah Kev and get touring man. Heck, what does Vanessa do in your Bob Evans/Birds downtime?

Andrew, The Jebs have just been back in the studio finishing the album and should be released at the end of the year.
For the past couple of years Vanessa has been back at uni and Brett and Chris working full time.
