The Black Keys will release a new album this May.

The US band will release, Brothers, on May 14.

The album is the duo’s sixth full-length studio album.

It is also the first album for Dan Auerbach and Patrick Carney since Auerbach released his 2009 solo effort, Keep It Hid.

Commenting on the new album, Carney said: “Dan and I grew up a lot as individuals and musicians prior to making this album.

“Our relationship was tested in many ways but at the end of the day, we’re brothers, and I think these songs reflect that,”

Brothers was recorded at the legendary Alabama studio Muscle Shoals with additional sessions at Auerbach’s Easy Eye Sound System in Akron, OH and The Bunker in Brooklyn, NY.

The album includes the Danger Mouse-produced track “Tighten Up” and a cover of Jerry Butler’s “Never Gonna Give You Up.”

Brothers is the follow up to the band’s 2008 record, Attack & Release.
