Vampire Weekend has added two extra dates to their upcoming Australian tour to meet demand.

Tickets to the US outfit’s shows were sold out in just minutes, forcing the band to add an extra show in both Melbourne and Sydney.

The band will now play a second Melbourne show on Wednesday 5 May at the Palace and a second Sydney show on Thursday 13 May at the Enmore.

The tour comes just a few months after the release of the band’s second studio album, Contra.
