Silverchair
Silverchair will travel to Darwin in May to headline this year’s Bass In The Grass festival.
The Newcastle trio is the first act to be named for the 22 May event.
The top festival billing is the second for Silverchair so far this year, with the band already announcing they will headline the 2010 Groovin The Moo festival.
The festival spots will be one of the first live shows the Aussie band has played since the completion of tours in support of their 2007 album, Young Modern.
Work has begun on the band’s proposed sixth studio album, though no confirmation has been given on its release.
The trio of Chris Joannou, Ben Gillies and Daniel Johns headed into the studio mid-way through last year to work on the as yet titled new record.
