Xavier Rudd will release a new studio album in April.

The Aussie roots singer will release Koonyum Sun on 23 April.

The new album will mark the first collaboration with Rudd’s new rhythm section Izintaba.

Izintaba features bassist Tio Moloantoa and drummer Andile Nqubezelo of the late afro-reggae legend Lucky Dube’s band.

Rudd recorded Koonyum Sun in 301 Studio in Byron Bay.

The singer will head out on a limited date tour in support of the new album this April.
