Gorillaz will release their third studio album this March.

The UK outfit will release, Plastic Beach, on 5 March.

The band recorded and produced the album on a secret floating island deep in the South Pacific, a Plastic Beach HQ, made up of the detritus, debris and washed up remnants of humanity, a press statement said.

Stylo is the first single off the new album, and will be available to download from 26 January.

The new album is the group’s first release since 2005’s Demon Days.

Gorillaz is a virtual band created in 1998 by Damon Albarn of Blur, and Jamie Hewlett, co-creator of the comic book Tank Girl.
