The super group made up of members from Eskimo Joe, Bob Evans and Josh Pyke has revealed their band name.
After calling for suggestions from fans, Kav Temperly, Kevin Mitchell, Josh Pyke and Steve Parkin settled on the name, Basement Birds.
The group will release an acoustic record with lots of big four-part harmonies, according to Mitchell.
“The first songs should start trickling out digitally early in the New Year with a physical album to come later in 2010,” he said.
The four-piece began work on the as yet titled new album late last year.
“We managed to complete four songs during the week and it sounds great; lots of acoustics and harmonies,” Temperly said at the time.
Temperly is the lead singer with Perth band Eskimo Joe; Mitchell is the singer of Bob Evans and Jebediah; Josh Pyke is a Sydney-based singer and Steve Parkin is a Perth-based singer.
