The Hives’ hum bug Christmas single

The Hives have signed a record deal for their forthcoming new album, with a cheeky new single set for release next week.
The Swedish band has signed a deal with indie label Dew Process for a single off their new album.
The single, labelled as a bit of tongue in cheek fun for Christmas, was recorded with Cyndi Lauper.
“Dubbed ‘A Christmas Duel’ it’s a love song duet without the sentiment,” a statement from Dew Process said.
The one-off track is available for free download from dew-process.com from December 7th.
The Hives new record will be released in 2010.

This is strange – I’m certain the Hives put this record out last Christmas. Fair enough given it a second wind as its a cool song. I can’t wait to hear what Julian Casablancas comes up with – he;s promised a festive song.
