Sarah Blasko

Sarah Blasko has taken out this year’s J Award for her latest album.

The Sydney singer took home the national youth broadcaster Triple J’s Australian album of the year award for her third release, As Day Follows Night.

The award is the second big win for the singer in less than a month.

In late November, Blasko was awarded Best Female Artist at this year’s ARIA awards.

The album has also helped the singer secure another gold record in just over three weeks, moving the album towards a platinum release.

Blasko’s two previous albums, The Overture & the Underscore and What The Sea Wants, The Sea Will Have reached platinum status.

The singer will next perform as part of the Australian summer music circuit, with Falls, Southbound, Sunset Sounds and the Laneway festivals all on her agenda.

In 2010, Blasko intends to tour internationally.
