Festival organisers of this year’s Summer Harvest Festival have been forced to pull the plug on the event.
“Organisers of Summer Harvest have unfortunately been forced to cancel the inaugural event despite the best efforts and assistance of media, council and extensive community outreach. They have cited a lack of local support in terms of ticket sales as the reason,” a statement from organisers said.
As Festival of the Sun changed to an over 18 event this year, organisers tried to provide for an all ages event with Summer Harvest.
“This was to become an annual event for Port Macquarie and we now begin working towards achieving this for next year,” Organiser Scott Mesiti said.
Ticket buyers can gain a full refund of the purchase price from place of purchase as well as a free ticket to a future Festival of the Sun once they turn 18.
