Lily Allen will perform at next year’s Big Day Out festival after the singer posted the dates for the event on her website.
Less than a week after claiming she would quit music for a career in acting, the UK singer has released the dates for the Australian music event on her myspace page.
Last week, Allen caused quite a stir when a post appeared on her website claiming she had decided to call it quits.
“Just so you know, I have not renegotiated my record contract and have no plans to make another record,” the post said.
“I do, however, remain a fan of new music, so this is not some selfish crusade.”
However, news of Allen joining the Big Day Out line-up has thrown cold water on suggestions she will quit music.
Allen has been one of a number of artists rumoured for next year’s event.
Others expected to be named in the first line-up are Muse, Placebo, Kasabian, Jet, Rise Against, Foals, Mastodon, Powderfinger, Josh Pyke, The Dead Weather, Grinspoon, The Temper Trap, Karnivool, Monsters of Folk, Tame Impala, Dappled Cities, The Middle East, Philadelphia Grand Jury, Regular John and Former Child Stars.
Music legend David Bowie was rumoured to be the headliner for the event, though it is unlikely.
The first official line-up announcement is released on Tuesday 29 September.
