Doves
Happy Mondays and Doves are the latest acts to be named for this year’s Splendour In The Grass festival.
The UK acts were named as part of the bill for the sold-out Aussie music festival yesterday.
Like festival headliners Bloc Party, Happy Monday’s Splendour performance will be the band’s only Australian show for 2009.
Other acts to be named for the July event are: Architecture In Helsinki, You Am I, The Beautiful Girls, Downsyde & Drapht, Kisschasy, Little Red, Bluejuice, Children Collide, Miami Horror Live, Art vs. Science, Paul Dempsey, Dappled Cities, Dananananaykroyd, Holly Throsby, Bridezilla and Deya Dova
These acts will join the already released line-up of Bloc Party (in their only Australian show), The Flaming Lips, Jane’s Addiction, MGMT (also in their only Australian show), Hilltop Hoods, Grinspoon, Midnight Juggernauts, The Specials, Sarah Blasko, Augie March, Josh Pyke, Friendly Fires, Little Birdy, Birds Of Tokyo, The Gutter Twins, Manchester Orchestra, Yuksek, Bob Evans, White Lies, Kram, Yves Klein Blue, Decoder Ring, Lost Valentinos, Leader Cheetah, Jack Ladder, The Middle East, Polaroid Fame and Glass Towers.
Meanwhile, as well as their spot at this year’s Splendour, Doves will play a handful of Australian club dates.
The tour will be the band’s first Aussie tour in four years and comes in support of their new album, Kingdom of Rust.
