Empire Of The Sun

Empire of The Sun has taken home best video at this year’s St Kilda Film Festival.

The Aussie outfit of Luke Steele and Nick Littlemore won the award for their single ‘We Are The People’ at SoundKilda 2009 which is part of the festival.

The clip was produced by Mathematics and directed by Josh Logue.

The clip is a sub-titled video filmed on location in Mexico and was shot over a week in the Icamole Desert, The Gardens of Las Pozas in Xilitla, and the small town of Garcia on the outskirts of Monterrey.

It was filmed during the Day of the Dead Festival in November and draws heavily from the influence of these surroundings.

Meanwhile, Empire Of The Sun has been nominated for their first Australiasian Performance Rights Association (APRA) award.

The ARPA awards will be held on June 23.
