Meg White was married earlier this week in a double wedding.

The drummer with US band The White Stripes married Back in Spades guitarist Jackson Smith on Friday May 22.

White and Smith married as part of a double wedding with The Raconteurs/Sabonteurs and The Dead Weather’s bassist Jack Lawrence and partner Jo McCaughey, a statement from The White Stripes said.

The ceremony was held in Nashville, Tennessee.

“The nuptials took place in Jack White’s backyard and were attended by a small party of close friends and relatives,” the statement said.

“The wedding was officiated by the most reverend Benjamin Swank.”

Earlier this month, Jack White hinted a new White Stripes record may be released as soon as next year.

“It won’t be too far off. Maybe next year,” the singer told magazine Music Radar.

White and bandmate Meg White have taken a break from The White Stripes for close to 12 months.
