The White Stripes

Meg White will get hitched later this month to the son of punk legend Patti Smith.

The drummer with US outfit The White Stripes is set to wed Back in Spades guitarist Jackson Smith, according to international reports.

Smith is the son of Patti Smith and the late MC5 guitarist Fred Smith.

White and Smith are expected to marry in Nashville on May 22.

The White Stripes have been on a break for close to six months.

Earlier this year, band front man Jack White announced he had teamed with members of The Kills and Queens of the Stone Age on a new side project.

The new project is called The Dead Weather.

The Kills Alison Moshart, Queens of the Stone Age’s Dean Fertita and Raconteur’s Jack Lawrence have joined White on his new project.
