Bloc Party

Bloc Party has been named alongside The Flaming Lips and MGMT in the line-up for this year’s Splendour In The Grass festival.

Bloc Party and MGMT’s performances will be the bands only Australian shows for 2009.

Other acts named in the first line-up include: Jane’s Addiction, Hilltop Hoods, Grinspoon, Midnight Juggernauts, The Specials, Sarah Blasko, Augie March, Josh Pyke, and Friendly Fires.

Little Birdy, Birds Of Tokyo, The Gutter Twins, Manchester Orchestra, Yuksek, Bob Evans, White Lies, Kram, Yves Klein Blue, Decoder Ring, Lost Valentinos, Leader Cheetah, Jack Ladder, The Middle East, Polaroid Fame and Glass Towers have also been added to the event.

The Byron Bay festival will be held on Saturday July 25 and Sunday July 26 this year.

Tickets for the festival will go on sale in May.
