Midnight Oil

Midnight Oil will reunite for two shows in Canberra next month.

The Aussie veterans will play two shows in Canberra to clean out any cobwebs before their spots on next month’s Victorian bushfire benefit show.

While singer Peter Garrett has a short walk from his base at Parliament House in Canberra, bass player Bones Hillman will be flying in from his home in Nashville.

Rob Hirst, Jim Moginie and Martin Rotsey will make the journey down from Sydney.

The band has not played live together since 2003’s WaveAid benefit concert.

Midnight Oil called it quits in 2002 after Garrett announced his retirement from the band.
