Cut Copy on AMP’s shortlist

Cut Copy has been the first act shortlisted for the 2008 Australian Music Prize (AMP).

The Melbourne outfit were named on the shortlist a week before the official list is released.

The complete shortlist will be announced at the St Kilda Festival on Sunday, February 8th, with a special performance by Cut Copy.

The winner of The Amp receives a $30,000 cash prize from PPCA, with Red Bull also offering a $15,000 prize in recognition of outstanding potential.

Sydney band, The Mess Hall, took out last year’s AMP.
