Little Birdy has revealed details of their upcoming new album.

The Perth band is working on their as yet titled third album.

Potential tracks for the new album include, Hairdo and Brother, according to Little Birdy singer Katy Steele.

“We started working on a few of the potential singles this week. One in particular is called ‘Hairdo’. This song has got a super cool vibe. It’s a lot of fun to play, it’s a challenge for me to sing, and like many of the songs on this record, Barney plays the famous Hofner on bass. Getting the right take for the album is really based around us locking in and letting the rhythms really sing. Barney and Matty really locked in and it sounds great,” Steele said.

Other potential tracks for the new album is Brother.

“It is probably our favourite song out of all the new songs. It’s funny, the take that we ended up using has a false start at the very beginning. It was probably the tenth or eleventh take we had done and it has a really funny start. It has this really long sigh as I was getting really over it by this stage. It had been four or so hours of playing this tune then out of nowhere this take came and popped out, and we are very happy with how it turned out,” she said.

Commenting on one of many guests on the album, Steele said Melbourne-based Dash and Will added vocals on the album.

“We have also had some very special guests come in over the past couple of weeks. Two of the foxiest guests were the lovely Dash and Will. They have been helping us out by singing some really cool ‘Shrangri Las’ harmonies to help us create our super cool 50′s sound. We had a lot of fun drinking organic earl grey tea with honey and soymilk. They were really great to work with, really quick and really pitch perfect,” she said.

Little Birdy expect to release the follow up to their 2006 album, Hollywood.
