Future Music 09 secures late finishing time
Posted on 30 November 2008 by Kate Kachor
Earlier this month a newspaper report raised concerns the event’s Sydney leg would be compromised by a 6pm curfew because of Sydney resident complaints.
“After complaints following the Future Music Festival in March, including “vomiting on private property, public urination and public fornication”, council staff have recommended the finish time be moved forward from 10pm to 6pm next year,” the article stated.
However, a post on the festival’s official facebook page, organisers said: “Future Entertainment have been given the go ahead for a 10pm licence for this event as of Friday 28th November!!”
N.E.R.D have been named as the headline act for next year’s festival.
The US outfit will play the Feburary festival with Pharrell Williams confirmed to join them.
Other acts named in the first line up announcement for the Aussie event are: Basement Jaxx, CSS, Paul Oakenfold, Steve Angello, Sebastian Ingrosso, Marcus Schulz, Etienne De Creccy, Tocadisco, Joachim Garraud, Christopher Lawrence, Mr Oizo, Lifelike, Super8 and Tab, Yacht, plus more.
Future Music Festival will tour the country during February and March 2009.
