Wolfmother names new gig

Posted on 17 November 2008 by Kate Kachor

Wolfmother has confirmed they will play as part of the Clipsal 500 concert in Adelaide next year.

The performance will be the first for the Sydney group since two of its members quit the band this year.

While band frontman Andrew Stockdale’s photo appears on promotional material for the event, it is not yet known who will join the singer on stage.

In September this year, Stockdale announced he planned to head into the studio to begin work on a new Wolfmother album.

Stockdale will continue to work with producer Dave Sardy on a new album.

Originally a three-piece, Wolfmother members Chris Ross and Myles Heskett quit the band in early August.

The pair cited “irreconcilable personal and musical differences” as the reason behind their departure, the band’s website said.

Stockdale is expected to release a new Wolfmother album in February 2009.

Other bands named for the Clipsal 500 Adelaide event are: The Living End, Gyroscope, The Butterfly Effect, The Potbellez, Pete Murray, Faker, Operator Please, Lee Lernaghan, Beccy Cole, The McClymonts, The Getaway Plan, plus special guests.
