Simon Carter releases solo demos

Posted on 14 September 2008 by Kate Kachor

Simon Carter is planning to record his debut solo album, after releasing a number of demos recordings.

The former frontman with The Cops has released four tracks to his myspace page.

The demo tracks are: Symbio, Honesty, Arizona, and Grey Matter.

Commenting on his debut, Carter said: “This is a record that could never be released by The Cops. Shying away from the electric guitar as a writing tool, I instead picked up a battered acoustic and started committing ditties to tape.”

Carter announced in May this year that he had put The Cops on an “indefinite hiatus”.

“I feel that it’s time for me to step out on my own after 4 awesome years that were made special by the fans that came to the shows and who also bought the records. You guys made it what it was. You haven’t heard the last of The Cops, but for now i feel it’s the right time for me to go it alone for a while,” Carter said.

As yet there is no confirmation as to when Carter’s untitled debut solo album will be released.
