Franz Ferdinand will make their way to Australia later this year to headline two homegrown festivals.

The Scottish outfit will headline both this year’s Falls Music and Arts Festival as well as the Byron Bay Arts & Music Festival in early 2009.

Franz Ferdinand will be joined at the Falls Festival by The Hives (Sweden); Eli ‘Paperboy’ Reed & The True Loves (US), The Kooks (UK), Tegan and Sara (Can), Gomez (UK), Soko (Fran), Donavon Frankenreiter (US), Jamie Liddel (UK) Mystery Jets (UK), Atmosphere featuring Brother Ali (US), The Dodo’s (US), A-Trak (Can),

On the local front The Cat Empire will be joined by The Grates, Faker, TZU; Architecture In Helsinki, Wolf & Cub, Liam Finn (NZ), The Drones.

Meanwhile, a similar line up will join Franz Ferdinand at January 2009′s Byron Bay Arts & Music Festival.

The Falls Festival will be held on for three days from December 29th, 2008 in Lorne, Victoria and Marion Bay, Tasmania.
