Powderfinger chase moths

Posted on 27 May 2008 by Kate Kachor

Powderfinger has composed the music for a short film by filmmaker and animator Nick Kallincos.

The Brisbane band provided the music for Wishing On The Same Moon, a condensed version of Kallincos’ award winning short film, The Luminary.

The Luminary is a love story, centering around a reclusive moth collector searching for the missing link in his collection – the luna moth. The moth holds the key to his collection and to his happiness.

The title track, Wishing On The Same Moon, can be found on Powderfinger’s latest album, Dream Days at the Hotel Existence.

The Brisbane band will return to an intimate concert setting this June when they head out on the Upstairs at the Downstairs Tour.

The tour marks a return to smaller venues, a tour mode Powderfinger has not performed in eight years.

The Upstairs at the Downstairs Tour will be split into two parts, one acoustic set followed by a second rock set.

See below for tour dates.

Friday, 6 June, Lake Kawana Centre, Sunshine Coast
Monday, 9 June, Tivoli, Brisbane
Wednesday, 11 June, Enmore Theatre, Sydney
Friday, 13 June, The Forum, Melbourne
