Seltmann has 1,2,3,4 reasons for APRA nom

Sally Seltmann has emerged as the sole female nominee for this year’s APRA song of the year award.

Seltmann of Melbourne outfit New Buffalo, has been nominated for the top award for her work on Feist’s track, 1,2,3,4.

Seltmann co-wrote the track for the Canadian singer, Feist aka Leslie Feist. The track ended up on Feist’s acclaimed album, The Reminder.

The single was also picked up as part of a global advertising by computer/entertainment group, Apple.

Joining Seltmann in the category are Silverchair for Straight Lines, Powderfinger for Lost & Running, The John Butler Trio, for Better Than and Thirsty Merc for 20 Good Reasons.

Silverchair and John Butler Trio has also been given nominations in other APRA award categories.

John Butler Trio has been also been nominated twice in the category of Blues and Roots work of the year. They are joined by The Beautiful Girls and The Hiptones.

Silverchair has also been named in the category of most played Australian work. They are joined by Powderfinger, Thirsty Merc, Eskimo Joe and Evermore.

The Bumblebeez make their APRA nominations debut, scoring a nomination in the category of urban work of the year. They are joined by Hilltop Hoods, Jade Macraeand Joel Turner.
