The Melbourne band has finished mixing the as yet titled album and is currently deciding a track listing.
“One of the main themes of the record is a subtle psychedelic, deep, trance-like hypnotic effect so we feel there is a group of songs that pick this vibe up strongly,” singer Adalita said.
“There are also a clutch of real melodic & brash songs. There’s a couple of real pretty and sweet songs and there are a couple of monster riffs that sound pretty huge and really jump out.”
The album artwork is also in the works, with the band’s front woman in charge of its design.
“We have some concrete ideas and it feels like now its more a case of piecing it all together. We are starting to lay that out this week.
so on top of that we’ll be going in to master the record…make sure every last detail is right and put the songs in their order,” she said.
Magic Dirt ‘s new album is slanted for release around May.
The album will be the first full-length release through their independent label, Emergency Music.
The band has previously released albums with Warner Music.
