Kasey Chambers will record a new album with fellow singer/songwriter Shane Nicholson.

Chambers will team with Nicholson, who is also her husband, to record the new album, Rattlin’ Bones.

It will be the first independent album for the pair since parting ways with major EMI. Both Chambers and Nicholson have released albums with EMI in the past.

“After 10 very happy and successful years at EMI we have decided to explore new ways in structuring our touring and record business. 2008 sees us venture into a new relationship with Liberation Music and Premier Artists,” a statement from Chamber’s management said.

The album will be produced by Nash Chambers and Nicholson. It is their first album collaboration.

Nicholson started his music career as the front man for Brisbane-based band Pretty Violet Stain. He stepped out solo in the late 1990s and released a number of albums including It’s A Movie and Faith and Science.

Rattlin’ Bones will be the duo’s first release through independent record label Liberation. The album is due for release on April 19, 2008.
